The roll feed can be adjusted from 0 to 70 mm per winder head revolution to produce dimensionally accurate overlaps as required with minimal operator influence. By opening the feed, start and end tapes can be created. If the pre-feed is set larger than the tape width, a saving tape is produced. The wire set is then spirally wrapped and formed into shape.

The open winding head of the KTR 15 offers many advantages. Very long, heavy wire harnesses can easily be placed into the machine from the front or from the side, and the taping process starts exactly at the desired position. It also allows maximum flexibility when taping long cable sets with different types of tape, such as in the production of trailer cable sets that require both considerable length (up to 10 meters) and different types of tape for indoor and outdoor use. Compared to manual taping, the winding speed with the KTR 15 is two to three times faster while ensuring the best quality, and material savings of up to 25% can be achieved.

The KTR 10 CS features a combined length measuring and roll feed system. With the option of storing up to 20 production steps, high-precision taping can be created according to individual specifications. Whether it's simple wire harnesses or complex modules such as door wire harnesses, mirror wiring or wire harnesses for the headliner, the machine impresses with speed and reliable performance. The software, which was specially programmed by Komax, is optimally tailored to customer needs. For example, several user profiles with various authorizations can be created. The KTL 10 is ideal when taping simple wire harnesses with up to five branches or small wire harnesses without pre-fixing. Featuring a tape length of up to one meter, it also easily handles longer stretches. For longer tapes, the sister model, the KTR 10 CS, is available. The unit has 100 programs with 5 wrapping steps each or 50 programs with 10 wrapping steps each. For individual requirements, the winding head speed is controlled via a foot pedal. The KTR 1800 is specially designed for taping wire harnesses with high complexity,such as the production of wire harnesses with up to 25 branches. The KTR 1800 also stands out because of its flexibility. It has separate motors for the feed and the winding head, which operate independently. Drainwire allows the application of the drain wire in spiral or parallel orientation for twisted and straight wires. In contrast to purely manual taping, it ensures a wrinkle-free result and guarantees a uniform pitch for desired overlaps. The KTHB Micro was specially developed for entry-level wire harness production on the routing board. It offers a significant increase in quality in manual wire harness production thanks to reproducible quality compared to manual taping. It is perfectly suited for small series and prototypes. The machine produces excellent spot tapes and short tapes. The KTHB Micro was specially developed for processing small tape lengths and can process commercially available adhesive tapes with tape widths up to 19 mm and tape core diameters of 1.5"" or 1.25"". The KTHB Mini is an efficient spot taping device for all commercially available adhesive tapes, which can reach a rotation speed of up to 280 rpm depending on the handling. Compared to manual full taping, the time saving is 50 percent. Thanks to the simple operation, training requirements are also low. The KTHB Mini is simply inserted into the cable, and the process starts at the push of a button, ensuring consistently high quality in the hand-held process. The adhesive tape is cut off at the end of the tape using the integrated cutter. Another highlight of the KTHB Mini is the optional extra balancer, which allows the unit to be conveniently attached to the ceiling or to a guide rail, making handling even easier.

The KTHB Smart is an efficient taping device that works more than twice as fast as manual taping. It combines efficiency and precision with easy handling. After inserting the cable, the machine is controlled by a foot pedal. An electric brake fixes the winding head so the tape is safely cut at the integrated cutting device. The KTS 50 Comfort reliably dispenses thick or highly adhesive tapes that require high peel-off forces. Thanks to the individually adjustable and storable tape types – easy, normal or hard to pull off – the respective program is quickly accessed when changing the tape. The tape dispenser also stands out for its high level of flexibility: Up to 12 different sequences can be stored with user-defined tape lengths on the touch panel. The programmable tape length ranges from 30 to 9,999 millimeters. After the tape is pulled off, the corresponding lengths are output sequentially.
